Class Descriptions 2024/2025
Tiny Toes Dance (age 3)
For our very youngest dancers, we introduce ballet, tap technique. We focus on basic
technique plus terminology while keeping the class engaged with the use of dance props and
games.
Predance (age 4-5 years)
A continuation of Tiny Toes Dance where we build on our basics. This class will increase their
development of ballet & tap technique and terminology. They will have fun learning dance
using props, music and imagination.
Junior Combo (age 5-6 years)
We build on Tiny Toes & Predance basics while preparing the dancer for the next level of dance.
Dancers will begin to master more difficult patterns and steps. We also introduce the very
beginning concepts of jazz technique and movement.
Combo Classes (includes Level I, Level II and Teen Combo)
Ballet, tap and jazz are expanded from the basics. The Combo classes are structured for
progressing technique with ballet barre work, across the floor progressions, mini combinations
as well as flexibility, balance skills and sense of rhythm.
- Ballet - Dancers will learn ballet technique and terminology. Class will include barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor progressions. Dancers will also focus on building strength, flexibility and control.
- Tap - Dancers will develop proper tap technique, clear sounds, flexibility, coordination and speed of movement. Dancers will work on finding the rhythm, style and sound from the variety of tap styles.
- Jazz/Jazz Funk - Dancers will focus on learning traditional jazz movement, isolations of the body, stretching, across the floor progressions and combinations. Dancers will be taught different styles of jazz from Broadway to Contemporary to Street/Funk
High Intermediate to Advanced Level (ages 5-11 & 12+)
For those dancers with skill levels on the mid to advanced scale we offer technique classes with
our Performing Dance Company dancers. Ages 5-11 years will work on higher level technique in
ballet, jazz, musical theater and tap as well as conditioning and strength. Ages 12+ will work on
advancing ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary and musical theater technique as well as
conditioning and strength.
